Dear Friends,
I remember spending a weekend in Carmel a couple of years ago. It was 70 degrees, the ocean was sparkling under a clear blue sky, kites were bobbing in the breeze, and dolphins were jumping out of the waves along the beach. It was literally magical. Here’s real magic, though. It was Christmas day! Everyone - every thing - seemed to be celebrating! Notably missing, though, were snow mounds and arctic winds. I remember my childhood in Chicago where the holidays - even as early as Thanksgiving - meant sub-zero wind chills and icy streets. Hey, I enjoy the holidays as much as anyone, but snow and cold - not so much. I paid my dues in the Windy City for thirty years. For me, the crisp, cool evenings in Carmel are enough to give me that wonderful feeling of being warm and cozy inside by the fire. Plus, I get to sip hot chocolate from my favorite cafe down the street. Thankfully, Carmel isn’t frozen under ice during the holidays. But this quaint little town is indeed “frozen in time” and they still know how to put on a charming tree lighting ceremony in the town square just like they did over a hundred years ago. If you’ve never seen it, it’s really special. And - if you haven’t guessed by now! - I’m inviting you to spend the holiday season in Carmel this year. If you’re from back east, I’d love to see you this holiday! I invite you to escape the cold of winter. And if you’re from the West Coast or local, I’d love to see you, too! Either way, I hope all my Inner Circle guests (you!) are healthy and happy, looking forward to a wonderful holiday season this Fall, and enjoying these last few weeks of summer.

2024 IS BOOKING UP, BUT NOV/DEC ‘23 STILL AVAILABLE
Right now, November and December 2023 are widely available in both cottages. And Carmel is a great place to celebrate the holidays with mild, sunny weather often stretching into the holidays!
Dates are already filling up next year, so sure to make your reservation for 2024. Right now January, February, and October in the main house are already booked up. We have good availability other times, but be sure to make your reservation early so we can offer the dates you really want.
In addition, we are now releasing dates through December 30, 2024, with advance notice given exclusively to members of our Inner Circle. By booking ahead, you can be sure to get the dates you really want. As always, we offer 100% refunds for cancellations made 60 or more days prior to arrival.
